I prefer the first one

Oh, they're not visually incoherent, I'll give you that. I do think there's a huge gap between the dialogue scenes and the action scenes, though, almost as if they came from different movies.

Thank you for articulating all I wanted to say; my lack of sleep is seriously preventing me from… you know.

Yeah… I guess. Doesn't change the fact I was never unclear on what the Empire was trying to do in the OT. I know Lucas was trying to build mystery in the prequels, but I don't think he succeeded. It just made the villain's motivations unnecessarily nebulous, which made me not care.

Yeah, I think the first two are great, but they don't even crack my top 100.

I'd love to see an older Anakin being seduced by the dark side through the course of these movies, instead of whatever the fuck was that we got.

Well, you mentioned Under the Skin, so there's hope.

Now that's just silly.

Okay, okay, I'm getting off the lawn, geez.

To me, it comes down to: it should have been good.

I don't know who that person is (should I?) but that was one of the most passive-agressive tweets I've read this year (I don't tweet much).

That's my rationalization, and I don't care if it's wrong. I honestly think midichlorians are among the least of the prequels' problems. It's just a couple of lines here and there.

Yeah, it doesn't matter because we're instantly following the heroes, but still, the war going on is just scenery. We don't care if anyone is dying down there, esp. when they're all clones and droids.

I think the argument is more that George should've kept it simple because he can't do complexity and ambiguity.

I think he went to film school. Not that you would know that from his movies.

Exactly. It's possible to hate a movie and move on with your life because it's just a movie.

I WISH I COULD WISH AWAY MY FEELINGS

Coruscant?

Well, at least the scenes in the OT *had* to happen in the locations they happened. In the prequels, most of the dialogue scenes could've happened anywhere. That's usually indication of a weak script.

Somehow I'd forgotten about that. Thanks.
