Any of the original airings of SASUKE (Ninja Warrior outside of Japan) for numbers 1 - 16. The G4 chopped up ones are available but the original two to three hour shows have been aired once and that's it. No DVDs have been made, which is true of a lot of Japanese variety shows.
Moonrise Kingdom finally opened in Japan on the 8th. Went to see it in a theater that could hold over a hundred. A Sunday afternoon showing garnered all of twenty or so people. Good times. Liked the film. Not my favorite Wes Anderson film.
It was on Nickelodeon stateside. I remember thinking that "Hey, this looks Japanese! Cool!" and then wondering where all the pew-pew! and giant robots were. And of course, the inevitable crush on the Inca girl.

There are people in Japan who will cut you for dissing the Starblazers theme. The Captain Harlock movie was so much better though.
I'm afraid to go back and see if Robotech sucked or not.

Pretty much. Were they made by the same people or is it just a Debra Messing thing?

For whatever reason, the only way I can adequately explain what a sitcom is to people in Japan is to namedrop Full House.
I don't remember what the first movie I ever saw was but I do remember the last movie I saw with my entire family: Can't Stop the Music.
Now that I think about it, I don't know if I've ever seen the whole movie. We didn't get HBO at my home til much later so it was always something I saw in bits and pieces at other people's homes. We were a Showtime family. Brothers and Garry Shandling!

For one high school history class we watched Roots. The whole thing. Not all at once of course, but still.
How soon they forget Dragon Tiger Gate..

Remember when South Park t-shirts were controversial? No? Just me? I'll just go sit back in my rocking chair then.
Other than that, I will always keep (and pretty much never wear) my SASUKE (AKA Ninja Warrior) t-shirts. http://i243.photobucket.com…
Also, UNIQLO makes some cool stuff.
You can still find blank MDs in Japan at most electronics or video stores but they stopped making new players a few years ago.
