Thanks!
Thanks!
Yeah, you're right.
I think the speech about "No reason" in Rubber is actually pretty sarcastic. Some of the things the character claims to happen for "no reason" in movies actually have pretty clear reasons for happening; the character giving the speech is clearly an unreliable source (as I recall he gets at least one of the films'…
Motherfucker, could you at least MENTION the quality of the action? Look, I get this isn't the new Die Hard, but next time you dismiss an action movie this hard, could you at least let those of us who can stomach cliches know if the mayhem is up to scratch?
Skeletonwitch rulez.
Touche.
I don't care what adjective is used before "genius", that word belongs nowhere near Harmony Korine.
I will never tire of this bit.
Apathy.
It's on Netflix too, without ads.
The Director's Cut and Workprint look EXACTLY like Woo's HK output, complete with freeze frames. When Universal brought over John Woo they obviously didn't trust him so they wanted an American producer to watch over him and make sure he made a "proper" movie. The only thing this show has ever been any good at is playing with it's core concept, the rules, etc. The characters are all really boring, and the more time they spend dealing with new threats brought on by the nature of Fairyland's existence, instead of talking to each other, the better.
Did this actually happen? This feels like Crazy Town, and not in that awesome "Buttefly" sense.
Wrong. This is the first good episode of the season. The only one that has done ANYTHING interesting with the core fucking concept. I'm continuously shocked by how rote the analysis of this show is on this site.
Thank you.
