i mean that's pretty true to life regarding depression. getting what you want doesn't make you happy then you fall back into the same feelings of sadness. it just makes for exhausting television.

i get that. season 3 ended with him committing a suicidal act, but then deciding to live, and probably introducing his daughter. there's definitely stuff there that could be really good without hitting the familiar story beats.

man i am not so sure how excited i am about season 4. i've loved everything so far, but season 3 really started leaning too heavily into 'bojack does a shitty thing, feels bad about it.' i feel like there's not a lot more insight to be had into his self-destruction.
