i get that. season 3 ended with him committing a suicidal act, but then deciding to live, and probably introducing his daughter. there's definitely stuff there that could be really good without hitting the familiar story beats.
sounds like someone's a nowhere nothing fuck up who didn't have what it takes to make it in the big city.
man i am not so sure how excited i am about season 4. i've loved everything so far, but season 3 really started leaning too heavily into 'bojack does a shitty thing, feels bad about it.' i feel like there's not a lot more insight to be had into his self-destruction.
