I like how everyone points out that he won an Oscar as proof that he's an awesome writer or something. The Descendants was a decent movie, but there's no way it was the best adapted screenplay last year, and the biggest issue with the film (aside from Clooney being really miscast) is that the script was noticeably

I would actually flip your statement (most shows peak at season 3, Buffy and Angel peaked at season five). Fifth seasons do tend to be pretty good on average for some reason though.

They don't just feel new, this is his fourth movie to be released in the last year and a half.

I really think Magic Mike falls in this category: most of the world sees an utterly forgettable, if fairly entertaining, novelty film about male strippers, but film snob types fall over themselves to praise it because it's Soderbergh.

I thought Mckenna was working on The Mindy Project now?

Wait what? The Wire's five seasons were more than enough

There's really no way that book 7 will be out before the show catches up to that point though… I suspect they'll end up going with Martin's outline for the last book, and the show will vary from the books to a greater degree in the last couple seasons. It wouldn't really be surprising if the show ends before the books

No way, they'll stretch those out as long as possible waiting for book six to come out. I wouldn't be surprised if they were three seasons each: two at the very minimum.

Honestly, I've only seen the 20 episodes of the show so far and I'm already completely sick of that and it's a big part of why I don't really care enough to get around to the books: it's way too much effort for what looks like it will end up being a 7000+ page shaggy dog story. Honestly I don't know how much more of

Expect Coraline was ridiculously superior to that horrible Mirrormask thing. And I believe the book came before it.

It actually seems to me we have way more stop motion features now than ever before, I mean can you name one from the 90s that wasn't by Selick? Whereas there were three separate ones last year.

I bet they would have gone back to that well eventually if they hadn't decided to turn Willow gay though…

@avclub-67ac61a6b8a7d5bb5b1e03402f9def89:disqus Isn't the age difference between Troy and Britta almost as large? It's definitely a double standard that people seem to find Jeff/Annie creepy but have no problem with Troy/Britta.

I actually got REALLY tired of Harmon's resistance to traditional tv relationships in season 3: he'd already set up all these potential pairings and he couldn't just drop them, so he just teased them to get all the shippers worked up, while keeping the relationships extremely stagnant. It got repetitive and annoying

What on earth is Faberry? That's a really weird attitude to have towards Glee, since whenever anyone is in a relationship together we almost never see them in the same scene together until the inevitable break up drama… Kurt and Blaine are the biggest exceptions here (and I guess Finn and Rachel during the wedding

I liked their friendship, but it seemed like it became incredibly marginalized about halfway through season 1, and the writers never seemed very interested in it. It was one of the big letdowns of the show for me (and aside from Veronica's relationships with Keith and Logan (and Duncan I guess) pretty much all of the

Which is a lot more than most will they/won't they couples, but they still

Well, they aired it, but only much much later. And yeah, I can imagine the delay for the season finale to air was incredibly frustrating at the time.

Alias was such a weird show, in that it basically unnecessarily tanked the show, yet the episode that essentially jumped the shark was it's best one ever. It would be kind of interesting to see coverage of the rest, but I'd rather see Babylon 5 and Dawson's Creek coverage continue.

Are you thinking of 6 and 7? Because I have no idea why you would warn anyone about 5, or not warn them abut 7. Anyway they're already into it at that point, it's not really necessary to warn anyone… let them form their own opinions.
