@Scrawler2:disqus Fair enough: I found Twilight strangely fascinating whereas I was totally bored with Hunger Games from start to finish (I only read the second two for a book club type thing with my friends). But I don't regard either of them as anywhere near good (and I love Harry Potter).

I'm pretty sure this is the most memorable thing that Lautner will ever be associated with. He really came off as the most dynamic character in New Moon and Eclipse solely because he was the only one who seemed remotely engaged with the material.

I totally agree @Scrawler2:disqus : Part Two was a huge letdown for me. I was pleasantly surprised by Part 1, which I thought was doomed to be lame, but actually managed to elevate the weaker material in the book. Part 2 on the other hand was a choppy mess: the Gringotts break in was fantastic but everything after was

Ugh, Hunger Games… I will go to my grave insisting that that series is in no way shape or form an improvement on the Twilight series: at least Twilight felt like a kind of personal fantasy of Stephanie Meyer's, whereas everything about Hunger Games felt like a cold, calculated publishing effort to produce the next big

Really? I thought Breaking Dawn Part 1 was by far the best of the series, embracing the crazy campiness as well as some of the genuine quality that snuck into the series in Eclipse: I feel like Condon is the only director who has actually known how to work with these actors and there were some actually visually

@avclub-64407e138a438a0608968f1ed57a2c7c:disqus I agree with you there, and I think that's part of why they're dropping so many writeups this season after only a few episodes: they don't want to get stuck in another 2 Broke Girls type situation where nobody actually likes the show but has to keep covering it week

@Scrawler2:disqus Yeah Ben and Kate only got picked up for 19 episodes, versus Mindy's 22, so I'm wondering if they're trying to get through them as quickly as possible so they can put something else on. That theory made more sense when I thought it only got a 15 or 16 episode order though…

@Scrawler2:disqus Yeah but Ben and Kate and New Girl haven't had such frustrating schedules. Ben and Kate will reach it's tenth episode before Mindy gets to it's seventh: I guess they must be trying to get Ben and Kate out of the way by Februrary or March so they can put one of their midseason comedies in it's spot.

@avclub-808e22af6c33eea22608f30cef458844:disqus Not exactly a ringing endorsement of original draft scripts though: Afterlife in particular needed a lot more work before that script was ready to film.

Yeah that definitely reads as "I'm probably going to be on SHIELD at some point but as some super secret character and I can't tell anyone." I mean she gives absolutely no reason as to why she wouldn't be on it. Unless she just hates Marvel or is holding out for a bigger role in one of the movies I don't understand

The scheduling isn't getting any better either… after next week there isn't a new episode till December 11th, which has to be the last one before mid season since it's a Christmas episode.
