I feel like the writers are turning his uselessness into some strange joke. He should just get shipped off to boarding school halfway through an episode or something.

Yeah that storyline was going for some weird, broad, dark comedy thing and I don't think anyone quite knew how to pull it off. And the way it set it up was so tortured. I feel like Vince Gilligan could figure out how to make that one work but these writers weren't quite up to it. And the whole thing was so

For real. I felt like I was suddenly watching the worst storyline in a bad Innaritu movie when that scene rolled around. Good acting, but a totally ridiculous and melodramatic storyline.

Unless it's Ringer. Than it gets canceled for unexplained reasons. Not that I was a huge fan or anything but I'd be watching it if it was still on for the awesome cast and unintentional laughs.

Agreed: this almost sounds like a real song, and is nowhere near as inept as Friday. It's not even as absurd as your average Ke$ha song. This is part of the problem with trying to make intentionally bad things: it's almost impossible to intentionally recreate that "what were they thinking?" aesthetic.

Yeah, definitely this. Lynch is my favorite director but that film proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he cannot direct even semi-coherent action scenes

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Still kind of dumb.

I really don't get the extreme hate for English Patient. It isn't quite as good as the book and it's hard to be that emotionally invested in the flashback stuff, but it's a pretty damn well made movie and has some really great performances (though Fiennes is a bit blank). It really seems like a David Lean movie to me,

My boyfriend used to make deliveries around the area where Moore lived and met him a couple of times briefly…I think just before he started playing Bond. He said he was extremely nasty and conceited, not a guy you wanted to get into a long conversation with. In contrast he said that Judi Dench and Maggie Smith were

@avclub-173af0430bc192b8a027af7cdba82cd7:disqus I thought MI4 was great and way better than either Craig Bond movie (I found Casino Royale overplotted and way too long, and actually prefer Quantum, while finding it a bit slight and by the numbers). These kinds of movies really are not about the plot and I think a lot

For real. Isn't Rayna bugging him about that weird random call he gave her about it in the pilot?
