Yeah, at first I thought this was an announcement that Scrubs was coming back on the air for some reason. I suspect some shenanigans to increase page views were afoot.

@olivececile:disqus Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, and pretty much all the major actors other than Tom Hanks and Susan Sarandon showed up as Koreans in the Neo Seoul storyline: it came off as kind of weird because every non-fabricant seemed to be played by a white person. I understand why they did it though…

Yeah it's really a straight to video release, I think they just opened it on a screen in New York for reviewers and to get it some attention before the DVD hits.

There are just way too many movies out right now. Couldn't we have gotten some of these in August or September?

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed by it as well. It doesn't seem like Warner Bros. is at all interested in launching any kind of Oscar campaign either, so it probably won't get much awards attention. I really loved it, it's far and away my movie of the year so far.

It only played on one screen, so yeah.

I'm so glad that some other people here felt like I did. It was so earnest and had so many elements that sound terrible on paper that I was almost embarrassed to love it as much as I did. It is a truly captivating experience, and even towards the beginning when I wasn't sure what the movie was doing, or a bit taken…

@avclub-85d8ce590ad8981ca2c8286f79f59954:disqus That is a really good description of how I feel about Cloud Atlas actually: it's got a million things wrong with it that probably shouldn't belong in any kind of decent movie, but it gets certain things so right that it doesn't matter and is still an excellent (maybe…

I definitely thought that movie was a special brand of terrible, but you had to hand it to the Wachowski's for going all the way with their ridiculous vision and headache inducing visual concepts. I don't think anyone could make a semi-decent adaptation of Speed Racer, and there could definitely be a much less…

Really? I thought the movie made it very clear at the end. One of my favorite things about the movie was that it seemed like such an incoherent mess at the start, and then it all tied together in very simple and basic ways at the end. Like most great movies with complex narratives it seems very complex at first, and…

Interesting point. I always thought that Wetwired and Demons were pretty much the same episode, just with Mulder and Scully's roles reversed. Never thought about the next two seasons penultimate episodes being similar though, but in those two they both go "crazy". I wonder if the writers did this on purpose or just by…
