…son of Gropey?
…son of Gropey?
There's a death sentence / lethal injection witticism here, but I'm too lazy to construct it.
JAMES EARL JONES
Technotronic - 'Pump up the Jam'. It's very subtle.
Although I would probably have nominated Robbie Ryan for Wuthering Heights over Richardson for Django, as much as I enjoyed it, it was a good year for cinematography and any of the nominees would have been deserving winners. That said, I'm really gutted that Deakins didn't win, he's the most talented person working in…
I'll stick with just plain white bread, thank you very much, maybe with a glass of water on the side for dipping.
Bachelor Chow! Now with FLAVOR!
Rockne. Someone named their child 'Rockne'.
Yep (although it's been a while). I'll agree that Bono's early stuff is more personal and more lyrical than the dross he wrote later, but it's still very overwrought. Not bad by any means, just kinda over the top. As a result, I find it a little insincere - his 'political' stuff is particularly bad in that respect.
I'm not a fan of Arrow, some of their 'restorations' that I've seen have been awful or in the wrong aspect ratio. I've never come across Re:Voir stuff in the UK but having googled it I'm definately going to look into them, thanks!
While it's great for early cinema, and 40s-50s stuff, there's a distinct lack of of coverage of the sixties onwards, and surprisingly few British, particularly British indie stuf. No Walkabout, nothing by Bill Forsyth, Carol Reed, Wim Wenders etc. Editions are much harder to find in the UK than the CC is in the states…
It pains me daily that there's no Region 2 equivalent of the Criterion Collection.
There's a Gremlin destroying the plane! You gotta believe me!
Why should I believe you? You're Hitler!
Help! Help! I'm being repressed!
With the greatest of respect to Daniel Day Lewis, I think we'd all have preferred Nic Cage as Lincoln
That sounds perfectly reasonable
Of all the Nic Cage images on the internet, that was the one you chose to headline the article? FOR SHAME.
Why would you want to? She's dreamy.
Charlotte Hatherley's Bastardo would be a good shout for this inventory, it's a bit more tongue-in-cheek than most of these too. Video directed by Edgar Wright (they used to date I think?): http://www.youtube.com/watc…
'Let's kick some bass behind closed doors' is still one of my favourite euphemisms
