Personally, I think the whole "separate the art from the artist" thing usually begins when someone enjoys a particular artist's work, and THEN discovers the person is a bigot/loony/jerk.

I have a lot of fondness for the original Earthworm Jim game, and the cartoon spin-off (which didn't hold up QUITE as well as I wish it did on a recent re-watch, but still had its moments). I can remember quite vividly finding TenNapel's blog many years ago, and being very weirded out by the hardcore right wing

Uh oh. Enterprise tried to be "sexy" quite a few times and that was easily one of the worst aspects of the show.

Haven't really cared for the Thor films so far, but I am getting major Walt Simonson vibes from this, and it looks pretty fun! Looks like I'll be marching to the local cinema yet again

OK internet, great job that was, thumbs up, best of luck to ya

RIP. He was fantastic in the 60s Outer Limits episodes, "The Man Who Was Never Born" and "The Bellero Shield". See them, if you haven't already.

I'll definitely second Full Dark, No Stars and Revival. But a lot of people actually DID like the latter, at least in my experience. It definitely has one of his most divisive endings.

I disagree - I think his dry patch was from about the mid 90s up to the mid 00s (maybe a little later). His last few novels are generally not on par with his creative peak, but definitely are an improvement.

I've actually enjoyed his last few books quite a lot. He's been on a mostly-good streak since Under the Dome.

Loved this show, at least for the first few seasons. I was disappointed that Luis Guzman and Mark Margolis didn't stick around for longer.

Yuri Kosygin! He soon vanished without explanation.

Perry actually played a charismatic preacher pretty dam well though, I'll give him that.

You could definitely argue that HLOTS was ahead of its time, and in some ways suffered for it. But for most of its run, it was a damn good show, and S1-3 are still unique. It's a shame it seems to have been somewhat forgotten; I thought its status as a predecessor to The Wire would lead to re-discovery, but that

Not a bad book. I remember finding out what "stimming" was from reading it (I had a general idea the behaviour existed, I just didn't know what it was called).

"Drawin' up a plan for the city, filled with ten thousand crooked stairs…."

I'm not sure if anyone else has said this, but when Navy said "What..is…rain?", I couldn't help but wonder if this was a reference to notorious Star Trek episode "Spock's Brain"!

My first thought to this question was something like The Wire or Breaking Bad. Then I realised that these days, I barely have time to watch all the shows I'm currently following, let alone revisit previously-viewed shows in their entirety. And only THEN I remembered I'm halfway through watching S1 of The Leftovers for

Good episode, but more than anything I was just happy to see this show back. I wonder what people would be saying about Andy if the election had turned out differently….

So basically, this article is like, "OMG, a pop star likes an artist from a different genre!" Reminds me of a silly interviewer talking to OutKast years ago, totally freaking out when she discovered Andre liked Morrissey. She kept saying it over and over again, "You like Morrissey? MORRISSEY? Reeeaallly?"

I actually came across an account of conversion-via-Chick tract online before, on a Fundamentalist website that was quite notorious back in the day. I remember it being a seething cauldron of unhinged rants, as one might expect….
