Not clever enough

I could've done without the Lego thing (which I probably could've posted on an earlier thread, but I'll give the latecomers like myself some love) just because it seemed like cheap nostalgia, which Community has always been pretty good about deconstructing (see Troy and the cookie crisp wizard). That said it was

While I wouldn't say it was an A episode because of how inconsequential it ultimately seemed, it was definitely a solid A-, and since I would be a super stingy grader, an A- is about as good as it gets. Except for a show like Parks and Rec which is getting regular mental A's from me. Also the Wire and Arrested

Totally agreed on the Todd name being a great way to spice up a joke, which I first realized in Zoolander.

I thought the show was really funny tonight. While I don't think it was an all time great episode I laughed out loud more than I have at Community in a good long while. Which is weird because it definitely was a mean-spirited episode, and part of the reason I think Parks and Rec is the best show on TV is because its

You're allowed to have you opinion as long as you're willing to admit that your opinion is based on incorrect assumptions, which to your credit you have done (at least to a certain extent).

Have you ever watched NTSF:SD:SUV? The show you are describing sounds nothing like the actual show, which is pretty much a straight up spoof of genre conventions, which is a pretty old style of comedy. I mean if I were going to compare it to another TV show I'd probably look at something like Get Smart, which isn't a

Agreed. Best part of the episode and the kind of joke that Community should be doing more of, because there is really no other show on TV capable of pulling something off like that.

I still haven't gotten there. I like the show and all, but I'd never say its something special. I watch it and look forward to it every week don't get me wrong but it has never hit me in the way UK Office, Arrested Development or Party Down did, part of which may just be the point I was at in my life when in it

Agreed, there was just something…off…about this episode. For me it was that everything felt really rushed. The Jeff and Annie plotline just felt like it came out of nowhere, as in they were interacting in a way that they never have before even when the show is teasing at romance between them.

True story. Although I was thinking the same thing when TVDW kept talking about the "themes" of this season. Did I miss something and everyone else saw half the season while my local NBC affiliate only aired two episodes?
(Although to be fair Todd may have seen half the season on screeners)

Agreed. Watch the whole series. I really dislike that the narrative has become that Lost fell apart, because I think the end of the series, for all of the loose ends, reaches a super satisfying emotional climax, which sounds like exactly what Rowan wants.

I like that they defeated him with the power of hot sauce.

Thanks. When I figure out what a black white single is I'll be sure to check it out. And if you're there…Grrrrowllll even better.

Agreed on everything except the 2001 thing. Although 2001 is one of my absolute faves and I always get a kick out of references to the non-ape, non-HAL parts. Also I didn't HATE the episode, I just think the show is capable of much better and cringed when TVDW compared it to mixology, which outside of Modern Warfare

Although it did seem out of character that Abed wouldn't realize UK TV shows have super short runs.

Abed's comedies are what elevated this episode above to its solid B status for me. Because they were hilarious, especially Inspector Spacetime. The rest of it, meh, too much reliance of cuhrazy Chang for big laughs, which never works for me.

I too have been digging the flophouse, although its not really posted on a regular schedule, so I can see why it doesn't get mentioned here too much.

Sorry
I didn't think I'd ever be saying this but can we hear more from Gareth.

Cars is Pixar's worst movie but its not a BAD movie. This sounds like a bad movie.

I mean I'm not necessarily worried that future films from Pixar will suck. Brave does indeed look sweet. I just don't like the fact that Pixar's first bad movie came about so lazily.
