I've honestly been hoping for that to happen for a while now with certain artists, now that digital singles are such a (relatively) big thing. I mean, look at say, The Supremes or (early) Beach Boys. Most people didn't give two shits about their LPs, but they still did amazing work on a track-by-track basis.

But it IS kinda odd, especially since it's the first in the series to not get released in Sept/Oct. And the way Hollywood is, details like release dates are almost never chosen willy-nilly.
