When did Miley Cyrus become a third-person pronoun? (And why wasn't I told?)
@avclub-de4a08d644135b09bd7e1a592dff156b:disqus Yeah, except then he also ends up going through life thinking "the remote control will fix everything, so who cares?"
I think my showing was about 1/4 full, and most of my enjoyment/interest came not so much from the film itself, but from the occasional audible reactions from the other viewers. I remember (SPOILERS) lots of sad, shocked sounds when the dog died, and lots of angry, "fuck this bullshit" sounds during some of the later…
Counterpoint: Filmgoers like my mother, who when it comes to stuff like theme/subtext/etc, needs everything spoon-fed to her or else it'll escape her notice. Unless such things are spelled out pretty blatantly, the only thing she's typically paying attention to is "what happens next."

Beth Orton - "Poison Tree"
David Bowie - "Sunday (Live)"
R.E.M. - "The Wrong Child"
R.E.M. - "New Test Leper"
Faces - "Stay With Me"

When you someone Krabbé it?
