Geez, if you think this episode was better than ep. 1 — well, I'm just confused. It was awful. Dialogue telling us backstory we already knew. Little plot advancement for a 45-minute show. Huge drop off from a very promising season premiere.

Gosh, am I the only one who thought this episode was a strange, poorly-written mess compared to the rest of the season? Really bad dialogue. Felt like directors and writers simply decided, well, time to shut down shop for the season. Let's throw in a good shootout or two and a little cheesy, unnecessary racial tension

"Good riddance to bad rubbish."  Regarding Karen?  Yikes.  Cute alliteration doesn't cover the obtuseness of this line.  I'm very curious to see how things play out with Karen and there's no way the writers can or will simply write her off.

Sean, this post sorta feels like a Showtime series as you've described them.

Blargh, such wasted potential with this show. I don't think I can watch season 2. Too many better options out there right now. Can't believe how this show fell apart after the 3rd or 4th episode.

Gosh, this text is rough. No one edits these entries?

Agree that the finale was a somewhat-expected letdown. I thought Breaking Bad nailed it this season. And for people who've suggested that Homeland overtook Breaking Bad as best show on TV this season, well, you're downright crazy. I mean that in the nicest way, of course.

Ah, this is a B episode at best. I wanted to see the writers have the spine to let Brody push that button the second time. It would have worked perfectly with that character and turned a good season of Homeland into a truly legendary season of television. But they backed out to preserve a character for season 2. I get

I thought I'd look back at this review to see what you all thought of the show initially. Sad to see that the reviewer doesn't understand the show. Ever read House of Leaves? "Smoldering Children" apparently has. No other shows are doing some of these things on TV right now.

Goodness, your feigned confusion about the "dark passengers" and such is as painful as the scene with Dexter watching Travis and Gellar argue outside the church. We all know the season is bad, but you could do your readers a favor and avoid dwelling on it incessantly. I guess what I mean is, nice final paragraph.

Unnecessary Wire fan slam aside, appreciate your appreciation for the show. I certainly agree. Lots of good literary references in this show, like CPG's "Yellow Wallpaper."

So I created an account just to log in and make a couple of points about this review and the show in general.
