@avclub-1b1f9a3e639ecc53f335314fc9d8403b:disqus Weirdly enough, I do remember that, I specifically remember Mickey attempting to hide South of the South from the kids so they wouldn't see how racist it was.

I miss the old days when they just would have locked them in the vault until they begged for mercy.

You forgot cats, lots and lots of cats.

OK, so, I like the idea of this gimmick in principle, but it doesn't really make sense when you just post random quotations on random articles.  If you can actually post things are somehow relevant to the discussion, but in a terrible, Avenged Sevenfold fan way, then you might have something here.

Have they done the opposite of this post? Bands that you don't really listen to, but will always see live.

Eh, I know this is probably AVC sacrilege, but I don't really care about what  happens to Andy and April. I just find them very one-dimensional, despite the show's obvious efforts to say "Look! April does care about other people! Imagine that!"

Fair enough. I didn't actually see the movie so it was a bit stupid for me to post about that, but remembering Arrested Development, I honestly think that a great deal of the show's humor would have failed if not for Bateman's reactions.

So is Curb's though, arguably.  Or Louis C.K.'s for that matter.

But some comedies wouldn't be funny without a good straight man, and Bateman is one of the best straight men around, so I think it's valid.

I think my friend has that superpower.  Whenever we go to shows he will start singing along to the random opener neither of us have heard of and I'll ask, "do you know this song?"  And he says, "No, I'm just making noises that sound like the words."

There's a great youtube video called "How Skrillex Makes a Track" that I am afraid to post for fear of being banned as it involves bare ass cheeks and a German guy playing a recorder with his butt; but it is well worth a watch.

Welcome to the real world, jackass!

Slightly unrelated, but has the AV Club thought about doing an article delving into the world of video game commentators on Youtube who actually make their living that way?  I've always found it interesting that this is something that a small community of people actually do as their job and it would be fascinating to

What are you running for president of, Massachusetts?? Here in Amurica we prefer our doctors visits expensive, out-of-pocket, and after we get really sick.

@avclub-08ae6a26b7cb089ea588e94aed36bd15:disqus Well, considering tariffs were the largest source of federal revenue in the U.S. from the 1790's to WWI, it's not that surprising they spent so much time talking about them.  They were kinda a big deal.

My dad bought my sister the Dawes album for Christmas and I had to desperately try to explain why I was cracking up so hard in response to  a perfectly innocuous gift.  Needless to say, they were still just as confused after the explanation, and maybe a bit more worried.

Are you sure it wasn't just a young hobo?

Yes, he is actually younger than Robert, but it's easy to forget that because the big emphasis that he deserves the throne because he is the elder brother (to Renly) and he just seems older in character.

I think it would have been much more obnoxious to have Yoren live given the situation they were in.  Most fantasy is way too optimistic about war - only the bad guys die and pretty much any good guy with a name survives even in the most absurd situations.  In the situation they were in, outnumbered by soldiers who had

To be fair, he was very senile by the point he did most of this stuff, by which I mean he was very senile for most of his presidency…
