My grandmother's usual breakfast: farm-raised eggs fried in bacon grease in her decades-old cast iron skillet, with liver sausage, peppered hash browns, and her homemade rolls topped with a sugar frosting.

I've heard a lot of good things about the new Menzingers album. I've got to pick that one up.
"Verlaine Shot Rimbaud" is fast becoming one of my favorites from that album.
I'm with you on "FUCKMYLIFE666" and definitely "Oaks" though in terms of sheer catchiness I'd go with "I Hope This Whole Thing Didn't Frighten You."
I was given a CD-R copy of Last Wave Rockers from a friend's girlfriend and I didn't know about the Op Ivy background, so I never brought in the baggage and expectations everyone else apparently did. I liked the album immediately and still do to this day but I did spend about 6 months telling people the lead singer of…
I've got a growler carrier in my trunk that can hold six of them. I travel around the Midwest for work and there are a lot of brewpubs and tap rooms where I can stop in for a quick refill while still on the clock. I just picked up a growler of Honey IPA from Day Block Brewing up in Minneapolis last week.
I've only been to Wrigley and Miller Park, two completely different ends of the spectrum for ballparks. I've managed better seats at Wrigley but the food and beer options are optimal at Miller, though Wrigley is getting better since they serve Goose Island beers now.
I graduated high school and started college in 1998. That year in the dorms was really my most formative for getting into punk. I'd been a fan in high school but I lived 30 miles outside of Madison and trips to the record store were limited. Then I found myself within walking distance of State Street and in possession…
I'm happy that the Heisman Trophy-winning sociopath QB plays for my Wisconsin Badgers in this hypothetical universe, because the hypothetical me has hypothetical season tickets to those hypothetical Badger games. Also this hypothetically means that the sociopath-helmed Badgers have continued their domination (both…
I watched this with a friend of mine that is a big cat person. I think that scene took her right out of the movie, and the coat check scene immediately after just rubbed it in.
I did download some version of Hearts for him but it wasn't the old MS version. I guess my father had some unresolved business with Pauline, Michelle, and Ben.
My parents got a new computer a month ago and it has Windows 8. I'm somewhat familiar with it since I've got a Surface tablet but getting my parents up to speed is well beyond my capabilities.
I'm in a similar situation. I don't quite watch the channel exclusively but it's certainly worked its way into the rotation.
I saw a local comedian last week and he closed a bit about his day job with the punch line, "Yes ma'am, I understand gluten intolerance is a serious and medically recognized affliction. However it was you that chose to come to Panera Bread for lunch. I mean, it's right on the sign."
Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist.
I absolutely forced my younger sister to watch GI Joe.
Agreed. I went to see it in the theater and came away impressed given my low initial expectations.
As a Epitaph-era Hot Water Music fan that also was big into Tim Barry's first two solo albums I picked up Feast or Famine just on spec. It was one of my favorites of the year and it remains one of my regular driving albums. There's something about Ragan's voice that lends itself to early morning or late night drives…
I think it's because it had wonky line spacing so I went back to edit it. Maybe that Disqused it.
I've listened to the album on iTunes First Play a lot over the past week and I'm definitely into it hard. I was slightly down on Heaven Is Whenever, mainly due to some of the musical choices (backing vocals) and the overall tone of the album. I didn't dislike it by any means but it was my #5 on the list.
