I would tend to agree. Here, Under Protest is one of my favorites from a few years back.

I used to feel the same way about their live show - I loved the albums but was never very impressed seeing them play. That's why this last show was so good, as they played with so much more energy. I capped it off by getting a dose of surly from their merch girl Lindsey. It was great.
I played the "Drugs and Masturbation" 7" for my mother the last time she was up at my place. I kept saying, "You don't get it Mom, they're from GREEN BAY!" like I was 15 again.
I always loved Snuff. I listened to Tweet Tweet My Lovely so much when I was living in the dorms my freshman year in college. It was like an island in a sea of Dave Matthews Band.
I'm with you. I love Collapser as well and I don't agree that Heart Beats Pacific is a regression by any means. I'm really looking forward to Banner Pilot's upcoming album and I hope they swing by Madison on tour.
I'm looking forward to the Madison show with Against Me!. I've seen Cheap Girls in a smaller venue before but the sound was a bit too much for me then.
I was a Searching inductee as well. I did get into the earlier releases too and I really liked As The Eternal Cowboy but I'm with you in preferring their later works. And I've also been the guy just losing my shit when they started into "The Ocean."
I had student tickets throughout my time at UW and never really believed the stories about the stadium shaking during Jump Around. Then I went in on season tickets a few years ago and ended up in the second level by the press box. Feeling the upper deck swaying is certainly unsettling the first few times.
Same thing with me. I knew both Omar and Snoop were killed b/c of unrelated thread comments on AVC but I didn't know how.
As a Cubs fan I feel much the same, especially as the Cardinals will undoubtedly be advancing through the playoffs.
When I Couldn't Breath is really a fun album. I stumbled across it on If You Make It last year. Definitely the thing for picking up the spirits.
His "I wish I could have been there for that" after Amy Adams' "I painted the car, we had sex" just slays me.
So it was. I saw it in February, hence my confusion.
My top ten, in no particular order:
I liked Drinking Buddies a lot. It also helped that I watched it slightly hungover from one too many Lagunitas Brown Shuggas.
I'm from Wisconsin and Korbel brandy is nigh ubiquitous here. My mother's favorite cocktail is a brandy Old Fashioned. Once my father realized that he could buy a case of Korbel at a discount. I think they went through it in a little over three months.
I've learned to take a diplomatic approach when my relatives start talking about this show because they fucking adore it and it's hard not to insult them when they start going on and on about it.
I'm probably going to get this for my mother since she has a seasonal need to listen to Christmas music that just drives me nuts when I'm home.
The favorites that immediately come to mind:
I can't disagree with you re: "She Lied to the FBI" though they've always been great at starting an album with a killer song. I'm just happy that their making albums like this again. They're always going to be a touch hokey and dumb but I still love this shit.
