I listened to five cases yesterday during a site trip for work. That was the only redeeming part of the trip.

No, ladies and gentlemen, we don't ride around on broomsticks and wear pointy hats. Well, we don't ride on broomsticks.

Me too. I also reflexively say "you fuckin' whizzed that thing" if anyone tosses me something with any velocity at all.

It wasn't the worst thing ever
I had it on while working on other stuff across the room and I was mildly intrigued. Koteas is as good as expected but the rest of the characters didn't do much for me. I'd probably watch it again if I were around and not doing anything else but I can't see making it a point to watch.

I've got a Wisconsin German Non-Religious upbringing and this was one of my favorite movies when it came out.

No dickhead, sex.

I've been driving in Wisconsin for 15 years give or take and I've yet to hit a deer. I've come damn close though, including last Friday evening as I was coming home from my sister's. Fucking deer are the worst.

I was busy most of the weekend but I did manage to watch most of Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day on Saturday.

I was worn down from a long week so I took Friday afternoon off and re-watched most of Band of Brothers. I hadn't seen it in a few years and it was cool recognizing all the various British actors scattered throughout the series.

My mother loaned me her copies of Garp and Hotel New Hampshire when I was 20 but she cautioned that they might not resonate with me since they're so specific to the 60's and 70's. I enjoyed both but she might have been correct.

I don't buy too many books anymore due to sheer volume but I love having them around. I'll often have a snippet of a passage stuck in my head at work or during my commute, like the chorus of a song repeating again and again, and I'll go home and pick up that book to read from that spot on.

Me too Flaubert. When I'm traveling for work and I get tired of watching Man vs. Food or whatever I do like to read a few chapters from a Gideon.

In high school our library had one copy of Catch-22. When I graduated I took the check-out card, which had seven names on it. Six of them were mine. I bought myself a copy my first week at college and I still go back to it at least once a year. Slaughterhouse Five is my #2.

While shaving, especially with a straight razor, is certainly a manly activity I got tired of the cuts and razorburn. If I shaved at 9:00 after the coffee kicked in and the residual booze had burned off I maybe wouldn't have so much of an issue, but at 6:00 AM my Braun electric is the only way to go. Plus I only

No, water conservation is actually a worthwhile pursuit.

An excellent album, but I didn't hear it until 2004 when I finally picked up Shake the Sheets and decided that I needed to have all the Ted Leo possible.

Living With Lions
I like Holy Shit a lot. It's the perfect example of what I want in a summer punk album.

When I was in Amsterdam a couple years back we made the obligatory swing through the Red Light District and it was all British dudes singing soccer songs and getting roaring drunk. No soccer brawls though, that was a disappointment. We had a lot more fun when we stayed in Oud West.

I was in Memphis a couple months ago and went to the Arcade. I didn't try the chili since I went for breakfast, but I can happily report that the sweet potato pancakes are fucking delicious.

Yeah, I can't get them to play either. So it goes.
