There is no "idea" behind the World of Warcraft. It's a pretty standard RPG unique only in its polish and depth. You can play it with other people.

I haven't played many RPGs between SNES classics and an increasingly dormant WoW subscription. Would this be an ok game to jump in to? Or is there a better entry point to modern RPGs? The oft-mentioned Baldur's Gate perhaps?
