As a grad student, I do lots and lots of work in coffee shops. The reading in bars thing makes me wonder if I could just saddle up in a bar with my laptop and get my work done with a steady stream of alcohol rather than caffeine. While the idea of doing work and getting buzzed is appealing, there's the flip side of…
Pete would have been better off keeping the CHIP AND DIP.
Argle bargle or foofaraw?!
I just revisited it yesterday. Even being 20 years old, if U2 released it today it would be their boldest, most modern album. While the songs are largely overlooked nowadays by the public (not to mention the band), the title track and Stay are probably in my top 10 U2 songs ever.

Easily the best episode of this lackluster season. I found myself watching last week's episode more interested in what they were wearing than what was happening on screen.

You're not alone. U2 has always been my favorite band. I'm not going to let their subpar output over the past 10 years influence my opinion that their output during their first two decades was nearly flawless.

No she dumps him because they're broke from eating at Zingerman's every day.
Exactly! It would be disingenuous for these girls to have a close friend of any other race/ethnicity (not limited to someone who is Black). It's clear from the beginning that they've lived their lives in a bubble of privilege and are ill prepared for the "real world."
Totally agree. He was fairly insufferable early on. Once they made his doucheyness a joke he became much more tolerable and even a strength of the show. Over the past few seasons he's been responsible for some of the show's funniest moments (A couple examples: drunk beatboxing, trying to find someone to go to the…
Agreed. I'll add LOST as an example of how exposition is not necessarily a good thing. If intergalactic trade and glowy caves aren't essential to the story, leave them to the fanfic geeks.
Reminds me a bit of Givers
I, too, went to see American Reunion. I enjoyed the earlier movies to varying degrees and the new one far exceeded my expectations. I thought it was hilarious. It was easily the most I've laughed at any movie since The Hangover. Eugene Levy and Seann William Scott (and, to a lesser extent, Chris Klein) put it all…

I'd include Stereophonics in the britpop discussion (maybe Teenage Fanclub, too). I think the article is on point, though, that Radiohead, the Verve, Kula Shaker, etc don't belong.
I'm tempted to say that it's because they weren't poppy enough, but it's probably just because they weren't good looking enough.
Bouncing between Teele Square and Dorchester? That sounds like huge pain in the ass on a typical day, never mind St. Paddy's.
