Solid show
great to see the av club covering it. so many great lines and moments, and there's something comforting - petulant yet sweet maybe - about mark and jez's relationship. maybe the camera thing makes it feel like you're a third in the room.
Death of the Saturday morning cartoon
The Smurfs did it, in a mushroom troop, with a little blue hug.
Holy crap, Jammer, I was about to post a very similar message. KKYX was a frequent stop on our 68's beetle's am radio, along with kono and ktsa (my memory is working through fragments of morning show dj names). Well into the 80s, when contemp c&w turned into a Cosby sweater of crap, I got a car with fm radio and…
a little song
a little dance
a little seltzer down your pants
that's what chuckles stood for
Saw it in the theater when I was pretty young. I think it may havebeen the first time I expereinced feeling let down by a movie, like something had gone wrong. And I thought Infra-man was brilliant.
you would have been shocked to find out one day that females grow pubic hair too
I don't even own a computer. i sent my dog to the library to post this
Lili von Shtupp
Even if it was satire, Madeline Kahn's version of Dietrich was hilarious without being mean spirited. Not a biopic performance, but an endearing one nonetheless.
Yeah, I gotcha, Tux. I forgot to say I was responding to the prick caller fella.
I thought I was being clever in a grammar thread, writing my criticism in a way that could be criticized. My criticism would be clearer if it read, "That sentence was more disturbing than the photo."
That sentence disturbed me more than the photo
Bert Convey hosting Password left me cold. No charisma
@Frogwise… Fred Willard in the Rayburn spot is an interesting choice. Very good. My only slight hesitation is that Rayburn had a genuine goofiness to him, whereas Willard's might be more of an act. Rayburn seemed authentic. Willard seems like there's something else going on behind the curtain.
Gene Rayburn Match Game reruns still deliver the easy goods.
A Cosby sweater on the Press your luck set would be a calming influence. The show's aesthetics were so unbelievably chaotic and tacky.
I'd rather have a banana in the tailpipe than hum that song all day
