Oh don't get me wrong, I wasn't for a Charlotte victory. My point was more on that best overall female performer, and one of the best workers in general, in WWE, which would make her crucial for a highly specialized match like a ladder match.

I kind of agree even if I foresee only a couple of the women there making their way to SDL. As mentioned, they desperately need to have Charlotte and Becky in that match, and while Nattie is not the in-ring dynamo, at least she is willing to take those bumps and is able to create a base. However, that would only leave…
On the women, apparently there is a rumor that WWE might be doing a women's MitB match at MITB, which is both questionable considering the current workers in the division, but also makes next week feel a bit more uncertain as I don't know if they can do that match without both Charlotte and Becky to carry the workload…
I blame the Nashville Predators making the playoffs for this as Rusev is obviously their emotional rock and the team would utterly falter without his support.
While there were some big narrative flaws still there and the final tag match was structured in a weird way, including a literal 7 minute beatdown of Nakamura, there was a good energy and sense of direction in this SDL that actually makes me a bit optimistic of the build-up for MITB even beyond that PPV usually…
While the hacker gag felt out of place, I did love the continuous escalation and revelations about Terry. Especially with Ackerman, where Terry just tried so hard not to be hacked, but just couldn't avoid it.
This episode made me realize why I'm not really invested in Pimento at all. Don't get me wrong, he was really funny here, but I also realized that it was really telling he wasn't in the trial episode as there really isn't any real emotional truth to him and his relationship with Diaz. It isn't even that he isn't on…
I'm a little bit torn on having Kara beat Kal. On the other hand, the show's name is Supergirl, so it makes sense that the main character is the one victorious as it should be. On the other hand, this feels a little bit like if Batman turned up on Arrow and was defeated by Ollie. It would be similarly understandable,…
That Heyman promo with Balor felt really weird. It wasn't bad in anyway, but it was confusing when looking at the larger narrative as there is no story reason why Heyman would be putting Balor over in the way he did. Although I saw someone suggest that it might be Heyman trying to get Balor to be the challenger as he…
I really liked Bliss's sadistic backstage promo, especially because it felt different than her normal barrage of insults promo style. On the other hand, though, I actually laughed when I realized they are sticking with Bliss's KO punch as that visual does not make anyone look good.
Sheasaro has to be winning at Extreme Rules, right? Because I'm struggling on why they would first build them up only to have them constantly lose to the Hardys in singles action. On the positive side, this match was another example just ridiculously good Sheamus is in the ring.
Which makes Redstone's decision to use it as an example about CBS's female representation even more hilarious.
I am utterly baffled with what SDL is doing with its women's division. They brought in Charlotte and managed to give the division really good momentum and intriguing potential storylines, and seemingly what their creative passion was to push Nattie and Carmella while making certain that Charlotte didn't seem any more…
That tag title match was just genuine fun and made it work so hard that I was still laughing about it at the end of the show. And the commentary really elevated the hell out of it. There were just so many fun things there, with below just a few examples:
I somewhat love that of the four shows as he gave as an example of women driven shows one has already ended, one is on the streaming service, one is actually a show where the female character shares the lead with the male star and one is actually currently airing and female-focused.
As a sidenote, is Carmella actually regressing in the ring? I mean, I never thought she was actually good in the ring, but now the way she takes bumps is just really weird and off-putting. It's like she's afraid about what is to happen.
I really feel they wasted the great momentum they had for the women's divisions after Charlotte's arrival on this dam six woman tag. It's just nearly impossible to have someone really stand out in a match and build like that and it has basically reduced all the woman, not just Charlotte, to be parts of something…
Something I am happy to see with the Usos/Breezango, and what I hoped they would do, is that they are having their different approaches crash. They show these weird and soft, in the best possible way, vignettes with Breezango and then have the Usos face them with promos that felt much real and harsh.
Sami, just keep your back against the wall when trash talking Corbin. This should not be a difficulty thing to understand at this point.
Yeah, this was probably the most boring SDL episode I've seen in a while. It's just bizarre how little momentum most of the Backlash matches have at the moment and how even the basic stories there are struggling.
