Eh, I'll be impressed when he gets tenure.

Yeah, any time I want to dismiss David Cross (which is relatively often, given that he combines a certain pomposity with output that is often sub-par), it comes back to Arrested Development. Tobias is a fun character on the page, but Cross's performance makes him one of the greatest comedy characters of the last 20

I think people are hard on The Ten because it's structurally very strange - the only other movies I can think of that are so unabashedly just a series of sketches strung together are the "lesser" Monty Python films.

I do think most of the actors give "interesting" performances, at least. Lovitz, for instance, manages to achieve a level of actual menace, which isn't something you expect. But almost everyone (and, especially The Rock and Sarah Michelle Gellar) are acting intentionally artificial (I think?) that "quality" is really

As the only MadTV rep in the weirdly-full-of-SNL-alumni Southland Tales, he acquits himself quite well. Or.. as well as anybody does.

I'm pretty sure that, more often than not, Dan endorsing a course of action usually means it's a wrong or silly one, and that both Dan and the person he's talking to KNOW it's a wrong or silly one.

Fun fact: sometimes people roleplay and joke when they're flirting. Jeremy and Natalie are putting on a performance for each other and the rest of the characters throughout the poker game, and Jeremy's overly pompous response on winning is just part of the joke (as is Natalie's response).

We're so bad that when someone generalizes in an extremely negative way about us, we take 20 seconds to write a comment about it!

RIGHT?! And he's basically playing Bunk, too. Same suit, same attitude. I Twittered that someone had written a crossover between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Wire and decided to make a movie out of it.

With a rounder head.
