See, I think there's an element of maturation to it. The realization that "hipster" is just a meaningless label, and that you can like something without needing to be ironic about it, and that's okay. Like what you like. If it inspires you to have an interesting viewpoint, write about it.

I love how we're using "trolling" to mean "expressing an unorthodox opinion" now.

"Take these stupid shows off the air."

We're here to talk about pop culture. Reality shows like this are a large part of that. And yeah, they're "trashy," so the site doesn't cover them every week. But it's not going to kill you to be informed or think about the stuff the people standing next to you at the store or at the next desk at work are consuming

What's wrong with it? It seems pretty straightforward to me: being a trophy wife is a pretty fucked up, lonely, weird way to exist. Physically comfortable, but emotionally devastating and DULL. And it's being packaged as this fun, mockable thing. That's a phenomenon worth commenting on.

Because, even if their lives have manufactured them into some weird parody of normality, they're still human beings?

CHIEF?

I heard Darwyn Cooke's drawing the Stedman prequel.

KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT

I liked this, but I don't feel good about it.

a) You misspelled "castle"

You start with "Let's get coffee, or I'll cut your throat." If that goes well, hey, maybe you say "Let's go see a movie with a few mutual friends, or I cut your throat." And maybe she gets too clingy, that's when you bust out "Give me some space, or I'll cut your throat."

It's Madonna's vagina, we just live in it.

We can't be surprised she has a stalker. With a career like hers, it's inEvitable

There's a difference between "not knowing" and "not mentioning."

When will the AV Club banish the tyranny of mediocrity and start exclusively hiring graduates of Earl's Teevee Writing Akademy?

Headline: MAN DISAGREES WITH OTHER MAN ON INTERNET
Subhead: EXPECTS PEOPLE TO CARE

Damn it, you're an apex predator!

It is almost like he was constructing an initially paradoxical statement ("Stealing, better than adapting? BWAAAAAAAAAH?") in the interest of forcing the reader/listening to think about what he's saying.

Agreed. Don't care how much like a jerk he sounds in interviews (and I usually think he comes off as cleverly snarky more than actually mean), both for his actual work, and his lifetime dedication to being just as Alan Moore-y as fucking possible, Lifetime Pass.
