She sings on all of them

the title track off "Whiteout Conditions" is genuinely one of the best things I've heard in my life. I absolutely recommend that you give it some time to grow on you.

I adore Aimee Mann's feature performances & stand-alone singles - Rush's "Time Stand Still" is gorgeous and "Can't You Tell" is one of the greatest protest songs to result from this election - so I'm gonna have to listen to her new album just because she's played such a part in some of my favorite songs ever.

Next week we're gonna get the new Kendrick album, the New Pornographers album, the new Father John Misty album… it's gonna rule so hard.

the way Weird Twitter reacted to this movie was frankly all I needed from it

That's an absolutely fantastic song. My all-time favorite is "Botanica" but "Panda" is also incredibly beautiful.

I actually joined the AV Club because the commentariat was widely known to be deeply cynical and angry but everybody loved 'Community,' which I loved too, and so I was extremely happy about the idea of the edgiest people online agreeing with my sitcom taste, so I joined

I really hope I don't end up like that kind of person. I'm in college now and still discovering new music, and I really hope that that never stops. I adore the music that got me through high school, but I hope it's not the end.

I will happily fuck anyone who is aroused by Personal Jesus or Sometimes

Absolutely. People who act like their music taste makes them morally superior are absolute garbage (and I say that as someone whose taste mostly aligns with that sort of person - Bon Iver are one of my favorite bands ever).

what's on tonight is the new The New Pornographers song "Whiteout Conditions" which is maybe the best they've ever recorded

being obsessed with music is extremely good as hell, but judging people for the music they're obsessed with is very bad

I'm happy for you, then. I wish I wasn't there anymore.

because it numbs the pain

this is true. technically speaking, Kendrick is the greatest rapper alive - Eminem is the best technical rapper but he's been uneven post-Eminem Show and Kanye is the most artistic rapper but he's been insane post-Yeezus - so that leaves Kendrick. His only competitors have either fallen off or gone mad.

OH HELL YES

I'm buying the new Mount Eerie album ASAP. It seems like the saddest thing ever recorded and as someone who listens to every Sun Kil Moon song without fail it looks to be right up my alley.

BOW DA DA DAAAAA DA BOW DADA DA BOWW BOWW BOW DA DA DAAAAA DA BOW DADA DA BOWW BOWW

No I absolutely agree with you. That song is unbelievably sexy and it's her best song.

Portishead are so good. I've unfairly ignored them in favor of their fellow sexy trip-hop '90s group Massive Attack but I'm planning on getting into them soon. I've loved everything I've heard from them.
