I mean the part where a certain character looks in the mirror and the ceiling fan is whirring and then someone dies

Yeah, Mads Mikkelsen does an amazing job of making him into this sort of odd, mournful alien. He's sympathetic at various points, but the show never pulls punches or tries to excuse what he really is.

Boards of Canada are fantastic. Geogaddi is my favorite - it's like listening to your own childhood nightmares.

The show, I felt, did a good job of redeeming that concept of "eating the rude," in the sense that it made it legitimately compelling and scary. But like many of the great things about the show, it came from a terrible idea in the novels/movies.

"You" is incredible. Someone described it as "an ode to self-immolation" and now all I can think of when I hear it is the unhinged protagonist setting himself on fire to prove his love.

love 2 fuck some sliced bread

You might want to spoiler that last bit.

Kanye has made some of my favorite music ever. When he's on, he's on.

More than once I've attempted to learn guitar just so I can play "Paint a Vulgar Picture" and "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before."

Oh man, season 2 is even better. It's both scarier and funnier than the first.

I knew Cassian would die when he did that - I assumed he'd sacrifice himself as a final act of redemption. Didn't expect the totality of it, though.

God, I hope it does really well, just to spite those fucking #DumpStarWars assholes.

What I love about it is that (with the exception of the singles) it isn't really arena rock. It plays with that sound, but it's really this hideous, gaudy, fever-dream nightmare of an album. It's what it feels like when you've gone without sleep for a few days. I'm not shocked that it ended up dropping off the charts

Agreed that they only made one bad record. I really love the stuff they did at the very end - "Supernatural Superserious" and "We All Go Back to Where We Belong" are two of the best songs they ever wrote IMO.

Just got back from Rogue One. It's very good. Very, very good.

They fixed the whole "why was there such a simple weakness in the Death Star" thing flawlessly.

I thought it was Mustafar. I like the idea of him being petty enough to remain in the place where he was mutilated, just stewing in his anger and bitterness.

I think I'll enjoy A New Hope even more the next time I watch it. Knowing what happened to get everyone to that point, the rebels' victory in ANH has a whole new emotional heft.

Hell yeah, the Smiths!

Twin Peaks is fantastic. The second season's a bit uneven, but the high points are easily the highest in the show. The reveal of Laura's killer is genuinely one of the scariest things I've ever seen on television.
