People don't like it when outsiders come in and start preaching to them. Within the community, at least from what I've seen and in the circles I run in, it's certainly something that gets discussed and debated.

Kanye is many things, but homophobic is not and has never been one of them. He was an early supporter of LGBT rights in the hip-hop community. And Yeezus was the best album of that year.

I have my issues with Obama, but he has always struck me as a fundamentally decent man. I got used to having someone like him in the White House.

Kanye has never seemed to grasp that just because he likes Jewish people, it doesn't mean that his stereotype of them isn't inherently offensive.

There's a history of antisemitism in hip-hop, and I think it's going to have to be faced up to sooner or later. A lot of it's benign or well-meaning, but there's also some real ugliness, and nobody really talks about it the way they do homophobia or sexism.
