Jesse's Meth
Seeing how Badger reacted to Jesse's meth (which I don't wish I had, BTW), does anyone else think maybe Jesse can give Walt a run for his money and become the go-to cook in town? Sort of the young buck taking down the old one? Especially given that Walt has recently become a little unspooled himself, and

I didn't think it was a musical, either… I was reminded of the X-Files episode that takes place during WWII (sorry, this is kind of a repeat of a post I made, above — should have waited until read all the comments).

Dr. Donuts — I hadn't thought of Peter/Walter1/Walternate relationship that way — it's interesting. Also, now that I *am* thinking about it, why wouldn't Peter consider Walter1 as sort of an adoptive father, rather than as a kidnapper? Maybe it's just as simple as basically finding out he's not the person he believed

I did, too. Olivia looked kinda of shiny for a moment. Maybe Peter sees Universe 1 people as shiny, the way Olivia sees Universe 2 people, but since *everyone* in Universe 1 is shiny to Peter, he doesn't see it as unusual or even worth mentioning.

I'm with you Master Pea. I was especially taken with the concept of Tara being her own therapist. After all, no one knows the self better than the (other) self, and if Tara had been reading Shoshanna's book assiduously, she may have picked up enough methodology to actually be effective. Which to me is hilarious even

That would have been interesting, which means, of course, that it would never appear on House (at least not within the last couple of seasons).

Unless the participants were all very very wealthy, yes indeed. I can't imagine the average LARPer, SCAian, or RenFest player could afford such sumptuous garb. I've seen advertisements for custom-made costumes that cost $1000 or more, and they weren't as detailed and well-fitting as the costumes in this episode.

I liked him very much in American Dreamz ("dreamz with a 'z'"), in which he seemed to basically play himself, perhaps half a notch meaner. That film in general was underrated and overlooked.

Spanish for "no more" and "more."

While the incipient rivalry does seem a little forced to me, it does point up interesting aspects of the Walt/Jesse relationship. When Jesse first presented his own meth to Walt, he emphasized the chemistry. He was saying, "look, Teacher, I learned from you!" It was a gift in a sense, and Walter would have seen it

Yes! Awesome!

as an aside
I happened to catch a bit of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus while channel surfing the other day. I'd seen it before, but this time, I noticed that Ty Burrell plays Diane's husband. It's a really serious, emotional role, practically the polar opposite of Phil, and he's great at both. I love when

But where did he get the chalk? There just happened to be a piece of chalk laying around? That seemed lazy to me… if he'd picked up a rock to make a cruder mark, maybe that would have been realistic. I don't know why that bugged me so much, actually — I'm being unreasonable, I know.

If I were to guess, I'd say it's supposed to sound like "peep-uh-nay-derz," with "peep" being, you know, slang for people, and the whole word being along the lines of "the Schwartzenator," (the addition of "enator" from Terminator). It's a working theory anyway.

For what it's worth, I also noticed the resemblance. There was something in Dr. Warren's facial structure, perhaps, or maybe it was just her expressions, but I thought almost right away that she was an echo of Farnsworth.

On PR Canada, they had a contestant pull out in I think it was the first episode because of health issues. A couple of episodes later, they ran a little "in memory of" because the guy actually died very soon after leaving the show. Oh, I just remembered, in the same season, a woman dropped because she had anxiety

Charmaine
Last season she was one of my least favorite characters; this season, she's moving up on the favorites list. I took her immature gloating about the impending marriage to be self-aware in this episode.

not that anyone will read this…
But I noticed something interesting in this episode. At one point, there's a closeup of Richard's eye, with a crazy gleam. It's a very distinct image, and one I remembered right away that I'd seen before: in Jacob's cabin, when Locke and Ben first go there.

is anyone else suspicious of Husbandbot?
I get a weird vibe off him and the OCD daughter… last season I thought it would be revealed he'd been abusing her and getting away with it because Jackie was asleep at the wheel. That at least would be interesting, if painful, to watch, rather than a tepid reboot.

I wasn't that interested in how she developed DID, but now I am, thanks to this episode. I wonder what it was about that house, and specifically what was in that closet, to make her transition again. Perhaps the closet was just symbolic, though…
