I got it to load on Chrome, but it's still glitchy and prone to crashing. I uploaded an obscure Beach Boys song, and it worked beautifully…. for a few minutes… then it crashed.

If you listened to the recent WTF podcast with Shelley Berman, you know that Bob Newhart does sort of have one possible skeleton in his closet. And since it's something around which he based his career, it's not insignificant. It was difficult to tell exactly how much of a grudge (if any) Berman still holds. From one

I actually bought Truffaut/Hitchcock years ago, and had only flipped through it for quotes on specific movies. I never read it cover to cover until recently. It's astounding. One of the best books on films I've ever read.

Just read Hitchcock's Notebooks and Truffaut/Hitchock… but not because of either of the biopics. The first is only mildly interesting, but the second is essential.

I have to admit, I didn't give Moral Orel a fair chance when it originally aired. It just seemed shallow and one-note to me: some smug liberal comedians having fun at small town religious people's expense. I say this even though I tend to fall on the lefty/atheist side of most issues. Sometimes, I'm embarrassed by

David, I agree with virtually everything you've said here, but my grade would have probably been in the D+ range.

My guess? Moynihan. He will BECOME Drunk Uncle in reality, at least ideologically.

I think the book was heavily influenced by the likes and dislikes of its authors. Tom Shales is obviously a very opinionated guy, and the book was in no way neutral or journalistic. Its stated goal was to be a "tribute" to SNL, so there's a bit of a slant to what's included and what's excluded.
