I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that.  We didn't see Desmond kill anyone, we did see Benny, hands covered with blood, disposing of a fresh kill.  Pre Purgatory Dean would have ganked him ASAP, send Martin home, grabbed Sam and taken out Desmond to make sure.

I was really hoping that Amelia was either a figment of Sam's imagination, or that she was working for Crowley to distract Sam.  But no, what we saw is what we got.  A boring, chemistry free relationship that didn't make either one look good.

I agree with you about Dean.  I'm sick and tired of his whining about Sam taking a year off when he did the exact same thing.  I'm also tired of the 'you didn't look for me'.
