At this point, I think the only states that Trump can be fully confident he'll win are Idaho, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Alabama, and West Virginia. Realistically, he'll win plenty of other states as well, but if the race really starts going south for him, there are a lot of red states that can start looking awfully purple.

"Welp, this guy showed the world we said mean stuff about Bernie Sanders in a handful of e-mails, so I guess we better kill him, instead of just firing him!"

One of the "suggested posts" in my Facebook feed was a Wall Street Journal article with the headline "Hillary Clinton, Underdog: Even after Philadelphia, the momentum of the race points in Trump's direction". Of course, I clicked on it, wanting to know who in their right mind would think Hillary is losing now. The

It may be bland, but For Your Eyes Only was the last Bond theme nominated for Original Song until Skyfall (it lost to Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)). In 1985, I can understand A View To a Kill losing out to Say You Say Me, The Power of Love, Miss Celie's Blues (Sister), and Separate Lives, but not to Surprise

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Jay Baruchel
Romancing the Stone, The Jewel of the Nile, The War of the Roses
Channel 4 San Diego
The Dark Half
Marlon Brando
Clash of the Titans?
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (he deserved to win, too)
Hannibal
I honestly can't remember, but I suspect it's one of those films that is awful

Ahhh, 1996. My dog died. My mother had breast cancer. I experienced my first significant bout of depression, both because of my mom and because of the chemicals in my brain, and because of that, I nearly flunked out of college, which turned out to be far, far harder than high school. On the bright side, The

I worked at a movie theater that summer myself. We were really busy through late June with Mission: Impossible, Twister, and The Rock. Unfortunately, our big late June opening was Striptease. Then, in July our big title was Courage Under Fire. We didn't get another big title until the weekend before I left for

I hope that someone writes about how 1996 was The Year that Sequels Forgot. The year's highest-grossing sequel was Star Trek: First Contact, at #17. It and The Evening Star were the only two sequels that weren't either cheap family or cheap horror fare.

2003-2004 was the last year the networks put on original scripted programs that weren't burn-offs on Saturday nights, with CBS showing Hack and The District and ABC with LA Dragnet. After that: movies, Cops, America's Most Wanted, 48 Hours, college football, and endless reruns.

That definitely icked me out back when I saw it in 1995.

In the fall of 1973, Donahue was on Milwaukee's ABC station at 9 AM, up against network programming on the other two channels (talk show Dinah's Place and game show Baffle on NBC, game shows The Joker's Wild and The $10,000 Pyramid on CBS).

It's kind of incredible just how fast the FCC's hopes and dreams fell apart. Curious, I used the Google Newspaper Archive to look up what was airing in that slot on weeknights in the fall of 1973 in Milwaukee and Pittsburgh. In Milwaukee, the ABC station was running an hour newscast from 6-7, while the CBS station

I share a birthday with Benjamin Franklin, so he wins by default. It does kind of suck, though, since it greatly reduces my odds of ever having my birthday be a national holiday.

At this point, I don't care if Bill and Hillary got all their money by robbing little old ladies at gunpoint. Donald Trump called on a foreign power to commit espionage against the United States today. He is a traitor. Nothing Hillary could possibly do is worse than that.

My World and Welcome to It, the only single-season show to ever win the Emmy for Series. Frank's Place, interestingly, is the most recent one-season show to be nominated for Series.

I think we're still about 10-20 years away from Texas being competitive again, but with the Bushes and Cruz both being opening disdainful of Trump, it seems likely that Trump's margin of victory in the state will be considerably lower than McCain's or Romney's. I'd even suggest that Hillary, who will have so much

Downballot races. Campaigning in Arizona makes it more likely that John McCain's seat goes blue.

I'm flabbergasted by this controversy about his stance on abortion. The GOP nominee said on the record that he thinks women who get abortions should be punished, and his running mate has made it his mission to destroy Planned Parenthood. And pro-choice advocates are upset that, while Kaine is pro-choice, he's not
