I subscribed to EW in back in 1992, and I retained that subscription until late in 2013, when I let it lapse when I realized that new issues were stacking up, mostly unread. On occasion, I wish I hadn't stopped subscribing, but then I remember how many times I've visited EW's website over the last year and a half.

I was going to brag that I remembered every single one of these shows (because I'm a TV nerd), but I had never heard of Bringing Up Jack. Apparently, it lasted for 5 episodes in June '95, with the sixth going unaired. Ratings must have been really lousy for them to pull the show in the middle of summer with one

For some reason, I remember the youngest kid on Thunder Alley was a very young Haley Joel Osmet, despite the fact I may have seen all of one episode of that show.

I don't remember much about BB2 except it felt like it was about 8 hours long, the scene where Smith and Lawrence terrify the poor teenage boy who is dating one of their daughters, and just when it seemed like the whole godforsaken thing was wrapping up, the US government authorizes the Miami PD to invade Cuba, which

Showgirls actually had a solid opening weekend. It had the highest per-screen in the Top 10 that weekend, even higher than fellow opener Se7en. If it had been a better movie (which would have required pretty much the entire cast, except for Gershon, to be replaced and the script completely rewritten—maybe a

That was my favorite movie of 1995 as well, and I don't think I've seen it since, either. I still remember being mad Oscar nomination morning that Il Postino, a film that I had hated, was nominated for Picture, and Dead Man Walking wasn't (I would have also accepted "Toy Story" or "The Usual Suspects" in place of Il

My mom spent roughly the next ten years after she and my dad inexplicably went to see Se7en bitching about how gross the violence was and how dark and unpleasant the whole film was. That probably explains why the movies we went to see together when I was home from college for Thanksgiving and Christmas that year were

What I was always amused by were novelizations of movies based on books. I still remember marveling at my local Bookstop in January 1995 that I could either buy Little Women by Louisa May Alcott or Little Women, the novelization based on the screenplay based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott.

I'd say that "Daphne's Room", "Agents in America, Part III", "The Innkeepers", "Martin Does It His Way", and "The Last Time I Saw Maris" qualify as Frasier's stone cold classics from 1995. So, 5 classic episodes.

At least you weren't born only an hour or so after Gary Gilmore was executed. I'm glad I don't believe in reincarnation.

Nah…I'm pretty sure you mean Capricorn One.

I'm another Class of '95er. I can't wait to miss the 20th reunion in a couple months!

Outside of Gina Gershon's performance, Showgirls is still awful. There's a few moments of camp that are entertaining (particularly the swimming pool sex scene), but its hardly a "forgotten or underrated triumph".

I'd go for The Quick and the Dead. I remember it being terrifically entertaining. Speaking of David Caruso getting overshadowed, Sharon Stone made a big mistake by starring in a movie with up-and-comers Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio.

It's been 20 years since I've seen Jade, but I remember being utterly confused by what was going on. The big car chase was pretty good, as I recall, though.

Today was the last day of school for most districts here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. But most schools open a week or two before Labor Day.

When I was in school in Texas, I was usually out by late May. But we usually started in mid-August.

If I'm one of the greatest golfers of all time, and I'm going to be in a commercial with a former SNL star and a NASCAR driver, I'm going to hold out for Jeff Gorden and Bill Murray, not Kevin Nealon and whoever the driver that they got for the ad is.

The Trebek one definitely deserved a longer run. At least it's kickass theme song got recycled for Card Sharks.

I'm watching tonight's episode right now. It's all right, but it's no Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. ABC doesn't have to worry about ruining their schedule in two years because this show is on 5 nights a week.
