When I watched ATLAB I came in late in the mid third season. I had watched most of them online, but was in time to see the finales on tv. This finale made perfect sense to me, Amon sort of helped Korra by removing or blocking the 3 modes of bending she was completely dependent on. And her emotional draw for Mako being in mortal danger together triggered her air bending block. ( I yelled " YEAH AIR BENDING!!!" at my Tv)

There's guys like Mako all over the place, I know several of them. They are for the most part fairly serious to everyone else, except their really close friends or family.

Well we don't know how Aang died. Your theory could work if he was in half avatar state when he went out. So the powers didn't die with him, only fractured.
It could make sense. Except I think Amon is too old. Unless he's Korra's age and has a weird manly voice.

The realization that the air bender family are still THE LAST, sucked. But watching the air bender kids kick some ass was great! The more I watch them I realize Jinora is like half Aang half Katara. Melo's fart bending! Hah! "Feel my wrath!!" So good.
