I get what you're saying, but I think they're foreshadowing some kind of romantic/sexual relationship between Ted and Peggy — the glance they shared across the table before the ad awards show began was definitely of the "meaningful" variety. You don't throw that kind of thing in there for no reason.

I've enjoyed what little we've seen of her character so far. Her banter with Ginsberg was fun ("If you could get into the room, you wouldn't need the clock"), and she snarked on Bob Benson a bit, with that great inflection on "Bobb-y".
