I experienced the same optical illusion.

Oh you could understand him, and were supposed to, imo. He got away with it because we weren't yet in the PC era. While respecting differences and being more sensitive to other cultures has made us a better nation, I have to admit to liking lines such as: "Kato, my little yellow friend, where are you?"

Better to have attempted a firstie and failed than never to have attempted at all, says I. But that's because all I do is fail at firsties. Heavy sigh.

My problem was keeping all the damn pieces together. That damn metal ball is elusive, and if I lost a rubber band I could never seem to find a replacement of the correct length or tension.

Well, that's one reason why I'm not a Hollywood exec: a lack of original ideas.
