The first Cars movie is actually pretty damn good. I'd say it's Pixar's most under-appreciated movie, and I should know — I've seen it 100 times. I knee-jerk hated on it when it first came out, but grew to enjoy it. The characters are as strong as any of their other "golden age" films. I think it's just trendy to hate

Yes. He is the kind of artist that benefits from limitations, which often leads to creative solutions. The same material done on a shoestring becomes charming and inventive instead of hollow spectacle.

I wish Tim Burton would ditch CG. His bread and butter is the hand-crafted feel of stop-motion and practical effects. CG robs his movies of soul. It started with Mars Attacks and has gotten steadily worse. I wish he would make a conscious decision that he has enough money and make small-budget movies with NO CG.

He ain't wrong. There's just a giant empty hole where the remake's soul is supposed to be. Sadly, and I say this as a fan of his work, that's how most of Tim Burton's stuff has been lately (minus Sweeny Todd and maybe Frankenweenie.) It's just such a hollow, CG wad to the face.

Wait… Ihop?

This has got to be the worst AVQ&A.

I remember an episode of A-Team or Magnum P.I. or something I saw once as a kid… It was a dream sequence where the character was in a restaurant or something and everyone just started smiling at him. Just a room full of people with big, blank, scary smiles. I remember being completely terrified as a kid. I imagine it

I hated this movie as a kid for one major reason: he never actually Die Harded on a plane. Seriously, what a cock-tease. I thought the movie was going to be about him killing terrorists mid-flight. Instead it was about him stuck in the most boring place on Earth, an airport. I hadn't been that let down since Flight of

Shelly Duval in Popeye. Also the girl in the Flash Gordon movie that gets tied up and whipped. Yes, it's weird.

I agree. I love poking fun at the series, but it's like poking fun at your little brother. You still love them, they're just goofy and fun to riff on.

The lowlights: Janeway. She was insufferable. Her irritating voice and that school marm hairdo. Her holodeck stories that went nowhere. The way she had high, Picardesque beliefs and standards that she easily waffled on. Her gross "Are they doing it? Please tell me they're not doing it" relationship with Chakotay. The

I would love another series, but if they're going to "reboot" it like they did the new movies I hope they remember to put some brains and exploration into it. As much as I enjoyed Into Darkness (against my better judgment) I don't think I can take week after week of "Space Puncher: The Vengeance Revenge".

The (genuine) highlights to me were Picardo as the Doctor, Tuvak in general (a solid, if not very exciting Vulcan character), and the episodes "Tuvix" and "Course: Oblivion". Those characters and stories from an otherwise milquetoast series hold their own in the ST universe.

You left out the highlight of the series: lizard Tom Paris creating a brood of lizard babies with lizard Janeway. Classic Voyager!

Had me until the samurai robot showed up.

That doesn't explain why he just stands there and offers virtually nothing. That just made it feel weird (and not in a ha ha Michael Scott kind of way, but a why is he just standing there saying nothing at all when everyone else is getting dialogue and small story segments kind of way.) They don't have to have a big

Or the writers didn't have the time to come up with a last-minute script adjustment for a Steve Carrell cameo.

I admittedly hadn't watched it for a couple of seasons, so some of the jokes (and people) were over my head. That said, it felt really awkward. I hate to compare it to the finale of the British version because I think the U.S. show as a whole stands on it's own, but this finale failed in all the areas the U.K. one

I had the idea last week that Irene might be Moriarty, but dismissed it because I thought "Well, they already did the gender swap thing with Watson, so it's doubtful they'll repeat themselves." How wrong I was.

The writers are wise to avoid that hornet's nest.
