Go in with low expectations.

That's not how it works. Future self is sent back in time to be killed by present self. Present self then lives out his life with a big stash of cash until he's grabbed, tied up, and sent back in time to be killed by his past self.

I honestly know nothing about him, or his recent coming out. I just didn't get it. The first song took sappy to a whole new level. Grow a spine man. Plus the arcade motif and John Mayer?!? I didn't get it.

I've never been a fan of McFarlane, but I was impressed. Maybe it was because I'm so used to seeing hosts stare into space while reading cue cards. McFarlane was definitely game and he seemed be enjoying himself. He could easily be a regular cast member (and be better than most of the cast.)

Sounds stuffy and retread.

I would forgo realism if it meant Lincoln not sounding like Leonardo Dicaprio or Elijah Wood.

Very relieved to read that that wasn't Day-Lewis's Lincoln voice. I was about to pretty disappointed as there's no weight or gravitas to it like I would expect. Not sure I would have gone that route as people will now think Lincoln sounds like a bit of a dandy.

That's actually an interesting idea. Watching them one after another probably did give it a cohesive feel. When I finally "caught up" on DVD and started watching the episodes as they came out, I did notice the stories seemed to have a bit more of a "winging" it feel, though I always assumed it was to do with the

I agree that they're factoring in likability. In fact, in many ways that may be the best quality you can have. They want to sell cookbooks. They're not going to put someone who's cold or unlikable on the cover.
