Well, first of all the time to see arcade fire as a "future investment" was 10 years ago. Think you missed the boat. Also, don't do that. See a band because you like them, or think you might like them, or even cause you don't have anything better to do, not for magical cool points. No one is keeping score. No one who

Given the presence of dragons, zombies, warging, and quasi resurrections, I don't think the idea of Dany being healed is out of the question. Then again that may be a little too conventionally happy for this story.

How do people not understand that after 5 books (and most of what we've seen so far of the 6th) of it dominating the story, that the infighting IS what the story is about? Its the Others, and even to lesser extent the dragons, that have been largely irrelevant so far. Yeah, I get that the people of Westeros SHOULD be

I fuckin' HATE Greenday, and even I have a hard time getting behind this dude. His point seems to be "waah, these guys are more successful than me, so they must suck". I assume the over the top pretentious attitude is an attempt at humor, but it missed the mark for me.

Yeah, its well known that he didn't write much, but Ozzy's delivery is a big part of Sabbath. He obviously needs good collaborators to function, but he surely has something going for him to have had the level of success he did in multiple incarnations over the years.

Tough call which is "better" but I like Madman better these days precisely because it isn't so overplayed. I still crank "Believer" when I'm in the mood for Ozzy, that's an under-appreciated gem for sure. Both albums have their share of filler, but the standout tracks are great.

Playboy Mansion is at least tolerable, but Miami is indeed gawdawful. I had actually blocked out the existence of that song, and you have forced me to recall it. Yuck.

Whatever you think of the name, as a coffee nerd, I can testify that Intelligentsia is on the short list of world class coffee roasters. Enough so that numerous 3rd party cafe's all over the country serve their beans, and nerds like myself who live nowhere near Chicago mail order them for home use. Their prices are

Agg, someone was wrong on the internet! You're right, it was the end of book 3, not book 4, I mis-remembered. The circumstances were obviously a little different, but the basic idea of Lysa ranting and spelling out everything that happened is the same though.

Not to be a dick or anything, but you are wrong, and plainly lack even vestigial remnants of a soul. This is simple objective truth.

I saw this as a child at Disney World when it was still fairly new. The 3d effects were incredible, especially for the time. But even as a kid I could tell the acting was bad, the story was lame, and the hype was WAY overblown. And that was coming from someone who still hadn't figured out Hanna Barbara cartoons

Amok is a good record.  I like it as much or more than King of Limbs, and definitely more than The Eraser.  Both of which I thought were pretty decent records, so judge me and adjust expectations accordingly.

Wow, I hate to say it but I pretty much agree.  I'm a huge latter-day Pearl Jam apologist, but this one is a serious contender for their worst song ever.  At least their other single rocks a little.  Maybe the album still has a chance of not sucking.

Hell yeah.  I get that its overplayed, and that lyrically its basically just bitching about how the poor rich rock stars are trapped by their fame.  But as a guitar composition the entire song is pretty damn awesome, that ending solo in particular.  I've never been able to understand the hate.

Wow, you guys are really piling on the poor monkey boy.  I think you guys are projecting a lot onto this comment that isn't there.  Not everyone who doesn't know about something is smug.  Sometimes they just don't know about something.  Not being interested in a musical style is a personal preference, not a

I'm from Oklahoma, and most of the better DFW bands were popular there as well.  I'll take Trippin Daisy over the Toadies though.  I'm probably unique in this sentiment, but seriously if you look past that admittedly annoying Got a Girl song they were pretty awesome.  I still play the Jesus Hits Like The Atom Bomb

To UMD:  I hear you on nine inch nails, in fact I think there was a direct   influence there, or perhaps indirect by way of flood.  Listen to the beginning of zoo station and it could be a nin song.  But nin was WAY underground at that time, where U2 was arguably the biggest rock band in the world.  Kinda different

Maybe "valid opinion" was the wrong way of putting it.  U2 are a good band with some great songs and albums, and even their latter day stuff is frequently OK.  A young person is certainly capable of liking them on those merits, and their opinion is no less valid than mine.

Not to be all "get off my lawn" or anything, but if the first U2 song you heard was Beautiful Day, you're too young to have a valid opinion on the subject.  They were well past their prime by that point.  My opinion of that song, despite being a huge U2 fan, was that it was tolerable at best, and clearly the result of

To Kirk Cameron: Yup, I sure did.  Between the tornadoes, thunderstorms, crazy ice storms in the winter, high winds that never go away regardless of season, and crippling heat in the summer, Oklahoma has some of the worst weather I've ever experienced.  NH winters can suck, but the summer and fall are lovely.  I'll
