I saw the New Pornographers last spring, and Neko Case came out on crutches, with some sort of cast on her leg, and visibly sick with some sort of death-flu. And yet, her voice was this sort of unreal, ethereal thing that pretty much made the rest of that (remarkably talented) group look shit by comparison.
