i wish i wasn't a smoker because I so badly want to be able to use that line.

I believe there is still the journal system in place in some households. I think it'll be interesting to see if anything changes when they integrate DVR viewing stats, which is supposedly coming up.

I cast thee out!

It's interesting reading those books he wrote and are constantly pimped on the commentaries - you can see how it's really some unfiltered version of so many of the jokes he's written for the show.

I once asked a lit professor during class if Eudora Welty was known to be a "plump or gassy woman" due to this show.

@avclub-23dc117ef9479407fb6c6a666005af40:disqus so you always hate men?

The pilot had a cooooold open - with the gate through the wall opening and letting Waymar, Gared and Will go out past the wall.

I wish I had some sort of hacking ability to find the nielsen families so I could send e-mails promising $5 to 100 of them to just turn the channel to Happy Endings; I don't even care if they watch it, just tune the tv to it before they go out.

Damn, catelyn stark is pretty damn beautiful. They must have to work so hard to make her look as plain as possible ( in comparison to, say, Lena Headey or even Sophie Turner).

Hasn't this had less turnover in the writers room than between any other 2 seasons? If that's true, unless it's an edict from P&G to write those name jokes (which I think would be kind of odd but who knows; we're not talking about a rational industry here), I have no problem looking at it the way I have to this point

I think that's the great thing about this show. Even knowing that they've faked deaths before, and that it's a Saturday morning "kid" show, I still felt it was plausible those two were dead. Especially with Kaldur's little going away message.

Didn't Crichton do a book on some funky shit happening in the arctic?

It might be that I'm a wee-bit not-sober, but this made me laugh uncontrollably fora minute. It sounded something like my friend would say and I heard it in his voice and I lost it.

so agreed. This was Community. It seems to me a lot of those who didn't like this episode also had issues with the football episode. I didn't, which maybe is why I though this was a B episode.

Notice, too, tat one German broke a single balloon later.

Seems to m you're suggesting the episode could've been done more, not better.

"Your opinions are bad and you should feel bad!"

It felt so much like normal Community to me. The hate the episode this episode is getting is actually very unexpected. I thought I'd find a B grade, then I thought I'd find people defending the episode. Not that everyone is wrong and I'm right; I just thought it was funny, didn't count how many times I laughed but

Absolutely. Some of the reactions here to some elements of the show sound like the old snpp.com comments. I'm not suggesting this show is, or ever has been as good as the best of Tbe Simpsons, just that people seem too willing to pick nits or count laughs than they did during the Harmon years.

Interesting. Limited sample size obviously, but still interesting. I wonder what kind of reactions your pops had to some of the more popularly-disliked episodes, like Wine Tasting?
