Thank you. Even the review mentioned this was written by someone who was on the staff before, and the episode they were being credit for (Competitive Ecology) is a favorite of mine. ("No offense, Todd").

I kind of wish every episode got insane negative hype by advance reviewers. My expectations were so low going into this one, but the only objectionable thing to me was how far Annie took her little fantasy.

@avclub-7194d12c6b5c71da581f8c34e6432846:disqus - that's not at all pedantic

And since this was more about Alison Brie and not about the quality of Fallon's show, that is relevant because…..?

But he also agreed to do an interview for a running feature called "HateSong". Whatever he felt, he felt it was necessary to at least profess some hate for a song when, as @avclub-e4892f3d26bd080e9e0ee52a8484de55:disqus , he seemed to be more upset with being sick of it, and not hating it.

Oh look - this comment got unflagged. Listen you preening schmoe, it just isn't that easy to say "oh I won't do this because of my kids' pain." Depression and suicide are more complicated than that. You know because you suffered depression once in a while? Was it so bad that your mommy made you soup and kissed your

It's not censorship - it's asking for tact.

Hats off to the mods on this discussion. There are those of us who have lost loved ones to suicide who care not for the jokes. We don't look at someone else's death as an excuse to see who can be wittiest about it.

maybe you weren't suicidal to begin with. Maybe the parents who do take their own lives are thinking about their kids and can't help it anyways.

It's definitely gonna get ugly, but at least it's not as boring as a trade dispute.

I know it's probably the minority opinion, but I agree with you. I liked the full-on absurdity of post-Larry David.

I think Happy Endings got noticeably and drastically better from season 1 to season 2. But if you're midway through season 2 and still not on-board, I honestly don't know if you're ever going to be on-board.

I gotta disagree. If we're saying Up All Night was mediocre, then this was certainly better than mediocre, and easily better than anything Chuck Lorre's stable can put out.

Let it be known!

Agreed. I went B+ on this one. I firmly and truly believe that if we didn't know about Harmon leaving, we might not have thought this episode that far off from a barely-below-average one instead of "odd" (something of which I was guilty of upon first viewing).

@avclub-c1e6eae065d94c6a31446cfd6a1a2af7:disqus on this we agree. off the top of my head, The Hunger Changs woudl've sounded better (but maybe not in the context of the episode),

@avclub-eee8ef988c620d245bd91a567cd58d9a:disqus fair 'nuff - i do know sony has been insisting on playing up the Hunger Games aspect in the promo, but now I have no idea why .

I think he overstated it. It did feel at times they were aping Harmon, but I don't know that I would've felt that way if I didn't know he was gone.

i think that was the episode where Jeff didn't want to play pool in shorts, and the rest of the gang tried to make Abed into something he wasn't to attract the girl that doodled a picture of her boyfriend's (white Abed) face in her spanish book. Season 1.

First of all, love the show, Erik, I love your character, and I love that you come on here and interact with us uber fans (who can be scary at times with our devotion). I've mentioned a few times on this message board that this show was the only thing that kept me going when my mom passed away last year - the only
