Truly, one of the best things about this show is that nobody is clearly defined as a villain or an innocent.  By the end of the series, I felt quite sympathetic to Teddy.

I believe you're making an assumption about "the full extent of Daniel's assault" - I don't think it's a spoiler to say that episode 6 leaves it completely ambiguous.  I know what you're implying, and I'm pretty sure the show intends it to be a mystery (undoubtedly to be cleared up now that there will be a season 2).
