Is that a sequel to District 9?

A Star Trek film like Contact would be a great thing. Most of the Trek films that have tried to be measured and philosophical have turned out boring instead.

I would have switched writers.

Late to comment. I just have to say that it never ceases to mystify me how much people love Farscape. Not just that they like it, but that they rave about it. I don't get the fuss.

I DESPISE that movie. DESPISE. Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is maybe my favorite children's book of all time, and they did not adapt it faithfully. I don't care how good it is as a film on its own.

Where the Wild Things Are was very melancholy.

There are some deleted scenes/outtakes of Carrey (as Olaf) acting like a dinosaur while his gang are asleep on the couch. He disappears off-screen and then reappears behind the couch. One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Also, a lot of the Don Bluth animated films are kind of dark and twisted in parts.

I never saw Watership Down as a child, but Fantastic Planet and All Dogs Go to Heaven both threw my mind for loops. The former, I only recently learned the name of; the latter, I never understood at all.

There must be some real-life Lord of the Rings joke here somewhere. Kelly Clarkson is Sauron?

I had a similar experience where a bunch of us were hanging out with a TNG DVD set, and we started from the beginning…but then it came back to me, and I was thinking, "No, this isn't a good idea. We should not be starting with Farpoint. Bad, bad."

Haven't read every comment to check for similar sentiments, but - Fly By Night is a very accessible album. Maybe not the most representative of their all-time sound, but I think it makes a great entry point. Worked for me.

Is any part of you a fan of Disturbed?

I do agree that in some ways TNG hasn't aged well, but then I just recently watched "Measure of a Man," and I have to say that I think the best moments of TNG might be he best Trek, period. It's serious stuff.

Halt and Catch Fire - that's a clunky title.

All day, the radio's been playing the same song…

I've been watching Big Love lately, and in the close-up shots of Amber Tamblyn's face, she looks uncannily like she could be Barb's (Jean Tripplehorn's) daughter. Sorry if that is a trivial observation, but it was taking over my mind.

I may have been amused by the Pink takedown. (P!nk?) But not the Linda Perry takedown.

As a guy, I like taking female-sung songs and lowering them for myself, because it's easier to sing them in my own voice then, instead of inadvertently doing an impersonation of the original vocalist.

Katy Perry is my guilty pleasure, but I don't really care for "Firework." Not because I don't think she's qualified to sing about the struggles of overweight people or whatever, but simply because I don't care for it musically.
