I'm still holding out hope for a Blakroc sequel.
I'm still holding out hope for a Blakroc sequel.
I actually won tickets to the United Center show and I'm excited to see both (even though I saw Arctic Monkeys at Lolla a few years ago and they played Humbug front to back and I was disappointed by Julian Casablancas-like lack of giving a shit). Never been to an arena show and I'm actually pretty anxious about it. I…
Definitely agree. I have to give a smoking hot actress props when she commits to playing a dim, graceless over-eater.
How could this have turned out bad? It's from the creative mind that brought us Chelsea Handler's career.
Gotta say, I've been chomping at the bit for an angry, "this time it's personal" episode all season. Cannot wait for the finale. Angry, vengeful, protective Nate Ford is my favorite flavor of the show.
As a hard-drinking, underachieving, Bukowski wannabe, I'm so glad Californication is back.
Nice. After the second book, though, no, I wasn't. I have a lot of problems with the writing in the series which I guess many others don't. Either that or they use the "kids' book" defense, which just doesn't hold water.
I never would.
Deal.
Agreed, if for no other reason than to cause shit.
Truth. "Sure I'll take over the reviews for Jersey Shore" will never be uttered in the AV Club offices.
@avclub-e1f76e0d08180575ad02f3be86611976:disqus I guess it's a matter of personal preference, but I haven't enjoyed the later episodes any less than the earlier ones. I've seen it more like the characters getting into a groove. But I have a high tolerance for buffoonery. I love to see these people continue to get into…
Sam, uh, what was subversive about the ending to Mockingjay? I finally finished it last week after sitting on it half-read for nearly a year, and I'm not seeing the subversion. I see my huge disappointment and the author's tired repetition, but not subversion.
@avclub-e1f76e0d08180575ad02f3be86611976:disqus Again, I'm not bothered by the end of the coverage. (I'm shocked this was covered here non-ironically to begin with.) I'm bothered by the time-waster review above. I could have written that by simply watching the teaser for the premiere. It just made me wonder, why…
I don't really disagree that there's a lack of an audience, but I've seen tons of shows covered by the AV Club that get little more than a few dozen replies. This shouldn't be the sole reason for the weak review, especially since several of the writers watch the show regardless.
Marah, I can't believe I'm doing this but I'm going to go ahead and defend Jersey Shore and say this write-up was pretty worthless. I have no excuse for the amount of Jersey Shore I've watched over these few seasons, and I really only have very weak justifications for watching at all: they're oddities, a subculture of…
BLASPHEMER!
Lord, I miss the days when I could freely develop crushes on non-batshit reality stars. But then again those were also the days when a Survivor swimsuit was enough to send me to my room. Formative and all that.
For some weird reason, last night I found this to be the perfect warmup to the disaster that is Teen Mom 2.
Definitely agree. It almost seems like they're trying to make Regina look like a sort of unsavory villain and Angelo the charming prince.
