I think OCTOBER is the album where Bono lost his lyrics.
Fun fact: P2:TS and TITANIC have virtually the same opening shot. Auteurism: respect it.
If there's one thing I've learned from watching MAD MEN promos over the years it's that they tell you nothing.
"Seduce" might be too strong a word. But I don't think it was just out of pity. I think it was the culmination of feelings she's had for him. I don't think she was necessarily in love with him all this time, but he's an attractive man, she's fond of him, alcohol had been flowing and the rest took care of itself.
And this coming the same week he praised Ozu for finding variations on the same themes throughout his career. Ridiculous.
Oh, it's a solid film. But maybe a little _too_ subtle and laid back for my taste. An American curse?
Hoodwink: That made me laugh. And it's sadly close to the tone of the film.
I've still got a few more to go, so we're not done yet. From there I'd like to do something in this paperback world once in a while. But if I take on a new regular column I'd like to do something with movies. I've had some ideas I've been kicking around.
Well, in this case I'm committed. I probably would have bailed if I wasn't. But my own policy is I'll read anything until page 25, unless it _really_ sucks, and if I don't bail I'll read to page 100. If I decide to keep going from there I'll read the whole thing.

If anything, I think Heller underrates VEEDON FLEECE a bit here. It's a bit like ASTRAL WEEKS from an older, sadder perspective.
The CROWN cover is by Frank Kelly Freas, who enjoyed a long career doing science fiction art and working for MAD. The cover of Queen's NEWS OF THE WORLD album is taken from one of his magazine covers.
Never read Koontz. He's just someone who started in the Ace Double world and went on to a long career. Versus those who don't.
Sigh. Corrected.
Yes on the nipple. And I'm not a huge fan of the movie either, even though I'm fond of the Moore era. (He was the Bond of my youth.) GUN, especially the finale, almost feels more like a high-end early-'70s TV show than a movie.
Tasha assures me that the premise is nearly identical. I have not seen REPO!: THE GENETIC OPERA.
No. Here's the deal: You wrote us a letter complaining about a commenter whose shtick walked the line between high-concept (albeit unfunny) comedy and racism. I looked at it. Decided to keep an eye on it but not to do anything now. I like to keep these boards as open. For all the nonsense that shows up here, the…
