I'm thinking/hoping comments will get a shot in the arm when this airs on "real" TV. Also, I'd love to hear what Scott/Noel/Donna and other FNL fans on staff think. (Though now that I think of it, they might be it.)
I love TOKYO STORY but it shouldn't be anyone's only Ozu film, or even necessarily their first. He's trying to do more in that movie than usual, which is part of what makes it a masterpiece. But it's also part of what makes something like LATE SPRING an easier point of entry. It's a bit like seeing 8 1/2 as a first…
I was pretty disappointed with this show when I saw it last season, too. But I caught up with some mid-season episodes in the last couple of weeks and really liked this premiere. They figured out that it should be a comedy first and then an action show, which helped. The cast is pretty damn charming, too.
Apparently Lethem's new one will be very Philip K. Dick inspired.
Pulp borrowed that cover for THIS IS HARDCORE.
Star Wars?
Was anyone else disappointed that STAR WARS was Ted's most rewatched movie? Maybe it's just because we have most rewatched movie talk on the brain here, but that choice seemed a little uninspired for the episode, even if it was fully in character.
"you're right" .. Stupid typos.
Professional DVD guy: I predict your right. More people are going to find this movie.
Fee Waybill looks much better, and younger, in the doc included on this disc than he does in the movie. Either he had one hell of a make-up job or he's living a much healthier life these days.
I don't think it was us. You might be thinking of the big article in GRAND ROYAL a few years back, written by the film's number one fan, the late independent filmmaker Sarah Jacobson. Sadly, her own making-of doc from a few years back isn't included and there's no reference to her. I doubt it would have been released…
Someone above has the right answer. I think.
Okay, we figured out the problem. Should be fixed soon.
What browsers are you using? It shouldn't be blocking anything.
…because we're all COWARDS.
That's just it. Tons of Venture Brothers interest and beyond that much less interest. That doesn't necessarily speak to the quality of the shows, however. There's just a lot more to talk about with a show with a deep mythology and character development like VENTURE BROTHERS than with something like ROBOT CHICKEN,…
Reaper = mid-season.
Yep. We're not even thinking about mid-season yet. But DOLLHOUSE is a given.
Also…
I initially left TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES off that list. It's there now.
Look for a review of the pilot shortly. Might get full treatment. Response will play a part.
