Jackie Brown is the only Tarantino movie I like. Jackie Brown is one of my favorite movies. It is so perfectly cast and paced. Kill Bill, Sin City, and Inglourious Basterds did not hold my attention for even ten minutes. It's like Jackie Brown in an outlier. Did he make that horrorish one with George Clooney that

I read Preludes & Nocturnes this weekend. I have heard for so long how good the series is. I finally got around to starting it. After the first two issues, I almost stopped. Biblical references (Cain and Abel) seem uncreative, and the quest for a ruby and the Yu-Gi-Oh!-like sparring in hell were a turn-off. The last

I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time this weekend. I saw the Trailer Park Boys live show. I had been planning a move to outside Halifax for a few years, so feared that seeing them in person would burst my unreality bubble. The show was hilarious, brilliant, interactive, and moving. I watched a bunch of episodes of Pulling. I can't decide if I like it—it kind of ebbs and flows. Pulling has some very funny exchanges and the redhead steals the show. My ambivalence probably is due to the show's similarity to Sex and the City, which I think is unwatchable.
Saw Skyfall—better than Quantum of Solace,

I think it's strange that Hansel and Gretel are adults. The whole point of the original fable is that they are children. It just seems like an excuse to make a witch-hunting movie because we are tired of vampires. That won't stop me from seeing it, though.

I don't mind the overuse of the "getting captured on purpose" device as much as the overuse of the "former agent feels wronged and tries to get revenge" plot. But the Aston-Martin made it worth it.

I loved Wages of Fear and also have trouble describing it adequately to convince others to see it.

Finally watched Drive. I liked the slow reveal of
the main character. Great cast. I bought some graphic novels at a used
bookstore, including Aeon Flux, which I had never read.
So good! Most of the characters are women, which is refreshing. I rate it just
behind The Watchmen and Whiteout. I have not seen these three

There is no bad episode of Freaks and Geeks.
