Well, as stated before, Ashkenazi is a family name, so they didn't name their son Ashkenazi, they named him Lior. Also, he wasn't named after the lineage, but after were someone from his family was from (Ashkenz, a Hebrew name for Germany), similar to, say, Berliner or Danziger.
