"Town Cryer," off of Imperial Bedroom.  Part lamentation, part crooner, all breathtaking.

Put me in line for "King of America," with "Blood and Chocolate" not far behind.  Man - that was a pretty good year for him, huh? (And the tour kicked six kinds of ass, to boot.)

"I said I'm so happy I could die / She said "Drop dead" then left with another guy" . . . getting dumped sucks, but playing that line REALLY loud always helped.

You mean "Joanna"?

Sabor de Soledad?

This morning saw the first frost of the season. It always reminds me of "Magpie," where she implores "don't let the fading summer pass you by".  She's just awesome, with a voice that could melt frost.

"My love, I'm an owl on your sill in the evening / But morning finds you, still warm and breathing".  A line like this makes me re-live that fantasy of being with a musician, who could write a lullaby-line like that just for me.  Sigh.

I see a bit of Catherine O'Hara in that picture.

Sleepers.  Ugh.

"What is the guy so upset
about? You'd think nobody was ever compared to Mussolini before."

Watching this scene for the first time, as the three of them (and soon, just the one of them) riding around on their bikes, I remember thinking that "Take the Long Way Home" would have been great accompaniment.  Then I read that it was planned, but Paul Feig had claimed that song for use in another episode.  Too bad.

Knawck Knawck . . .

And eating nachos while watching football.

And Peter Case's first two solo albums feature some damn good songwriting, too.

Shit.

Cutler is supplying the whole office, watching Stan get it on with the Daughter of Lakshmi, and he has nasty breath.  Is this guy bringing anything on the plus side to the table?

I had that same thought.  I also keep waiting for Ginsburg to show up with a sitar.

The ep is set six months from now.  New hires, likely.

Benicio & Clint as "Chico and the Man".  And the chair.

I'm disappointed that we'll never see his Jame Gumb talk show skit.
