Yeah, I adore this show, and I love it so much that it wasn't until my third time through it where I started to see some of the flawed writing. It's just covered up so well by the brilliant acting on everyone's part. It would have been very easy for a lesser actor to make Claire just seem fickle, unpleasant, and

There's obviously supposed to be an irony in that, though. The Fishers are spiritual people, but David takes his spirituality in a way that has to have its rules lined up and spelled out. That means he doesn't consider the time he spends thinking about his father as him being around: but Nate, who looks so desperately

I think the true end was a great end - Blue was a great song. Maybe I just think that because E-Bow the Letter and Country Feedback are two of my favorite R.E.M. songs, but I really adore Blue. "This is my time and I am thrilled to be alive" - That's just pure empowerment right there.

The fourth season arc with Sophia is absolutely the most dull plot the story has ever done, though the fallout definitely helps make Vanessa a more interesting character in the fifth season.

This isn't my favorite episode of the series - we don't get to see any of the characters truly test each other, which is when the best moments happen. I do like some things, though, like Taylor coming in and interacting with David, and Ruth's first experiences at the seminar.

I guess it's just because we don't get to spend a lot of time with Keith when he's not with David, so our view of him is almost entirely filtered through David's experience. We see how all the rest of the characters, at least sometimes, make the other characters' lives better. But at the end of this season, through

Honestly, there's this chemistry between David and Keith, but I never really believed that they would live a happy life together. After Season One, I just find Keith really unlikable. There are just way too many scenes of Keith making bad decisions and being angry for no good reason, and I always thought David could
